On Thursday, 23 November, Ben Elwes Fine Art Gallery kindly invited the members of the Anglo-Bolivian Society to view Alejandro Mario Yllanes’s breathtaking artwork, including paintings and works on paper.
The paintings of this magnificent Bolivian-Aymara artist were last on public view in 1992 in the US. Born in 1913, Yllanes disappeared in 1946, leaving a large body of work and funding from a Guggenheim Fellowship awarded that year in New York.
