Winston Moore MBE – Chairman

Winston Moore MBE was born in La Paz, Bolivia and is married with three children. After obtaining a PhD in government, Winston turned to journalism writing for newsletters, advising think-tanks and serving as a foreign correspondent in Latin America. Winston is a Latin America analyst and corporate communications consultant with over 20 years’ experience working for international companies in public affairs, media relations and crisis management. Winston was managing editor of Bolivian Times, a full colour English language weekly newspaper published in Bolivia in the 1990s, prior to which he published Latin America Chasqui, a bilingual monthly newspaper for the Latin American community in London. He is an Honorary Fellow of the Chartered Association of Building Engineers (CABE), member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) and member of the Official Monetary and Financial Institutions Forum (OMFIF). He previously served as Secretary of the Anglo-Bolivian Society.
Peter Lewis-Crown OBE – Former Vice-Chairman and Permanent Honorary Member

Peter studied Fine Art at Chelsea School of Commercial Art, and Fashion at St. Martin’s School of Art, after which he joined the couturier, Lachasse. In 1964 he became a director and subsequently the sole owner, building a distinguished international clientele. He has taught fashion at St Martin’s School of Art for 40 years, lectured around the world and dressed heads of state, film stars and royalty. His autobiography, The House of Lachasse: the story of a Very English Gentleman, was published in 2009. Throughout his life, Peter has been involved in fund raising events for many leading charities. In 1998, he received an OBE for his charity work and contribution to the fashion industry, and in 2014 he was presented the British Community Honours Award at the House of Lords given for supporting the inclusion of minority groups in mainstream British society. Peter is a former Chairman of the Anglo-Bolivian Society and served as member of Council for many years.
Kate Ford – Co-Chair & Membership Secretary

Kate is a theatre designer who joined the Anglo-Bolivian Society in 2009 when she began researching a PhD thesis on the appearance of the churches of the Mission to the Chiquitos. She became a member of council in 2013 and, overcoming a crippling fear of figures and spreadsheets, took on the job of membership secretary in June 2014. She is fascinated by the theatrical dynamic of disguise and reality evident in the original and restored decoration of the Mission churches and in the modern-day relationship of the city of Santa Cruz with the Mission.
Magaly Charlier – Council Member

Magaly is a senior banking professional with 20 years experience in cash management, international payments, supply chain finance, international trade, electronic invoicing and working capital management. With expertise in revenue-generating positions and service; managing large volume and value commercial payments products as well as complex projects for blue-chip organizations.
Alberto Souviron – Digital Media Secretary

Alberto is a digital media and international journalist with more than 20 years of experience leading and executing projects across multiple sectors. With a keen focus in global projects, he has been able to break new ground in digital and social media spaces, both in the area of communications and journalism. Alberto has led digital and social media departments in different global media organisations such as the BBC and Newsweek International (Former IBT Media). He is currently the Managing Director of Mosoj ESG Intelligence, an economic and business intelligence platform focusing on South America with the aim of providing information and analyses relevant to investors, economic players and in particular to ESG investors and those interested in Sustainable Development goals as outlined by the UN.
Edward Guzman – Communications Secretary

Edward was born and raised in the UK. He graduated from the University of Westminster obtaining a BA (Hons) in International Business. Shortly after graduating his curiosity for discovering his Bolivian roots took him on an adventure of self-discovery and as a result, he joined the Anglo- Bolivian Society as a member back in 2011. In 2014, he was given the opportunity and was appointed as the new Communications Officer and has carried that role ever since. n addition, Edward, also spent the last couple of years forging a career as a Data Analyst within the Asset Management Industry enhancing his skills and future career prospects. Most recently he took up a personal challenge and transitioned into the Tech Industry, switching into a fully remote based world. During time away from his desk you will find him volunteering, working for charitable causes, socialising, dancing, learning about new cultures as well as being up to date with Latin America’s Economy and Political Affairs.
Nathalie Forest – Council Member

Economist, science enthusiast, and consultant with an MSc in Development Economics and Emerging Markets and an MA in Public Policy and Management. Chevening alumna 2018–2019. Experience in macroeconomics, finance, and public policy, mainly in Bolivia. Interested in the economic implications of climate change. Currently focused on developing public policies and strategies that promote sustainable economic growth in the context of climate change in Latin America. Loves traveling and learning about new cultures, cuisines, and languages.
Bente B. Klitgaard – Council Member

Bente B. Klitgaard was awarded a Cand Scient. Degree in tropical botany at the University of Aarhus in Denmark, followed by a PhD in plant taxonomy and conservation at the University of Gothenburg, Sweden, and the Royal Botanic Gardens Kew in London. She has 35 years of experience undertaking research projects in neotropical botany, including plant taxonomy, specialising in rosewood tree species, biodiversity conservation, floristic surveys for habitat and biodiversity assessment, and ethnobotany. She has published in excess of 155 peer-reviewed scientific articles, books, and book chapters. Bente has worked in most Latin American countries, lived in Ecuador for two years, where she led the Botany Department at the National University of Loja, and has partnered on projects in Bolivia since 2008. Throughout her career, Bente has maintained an interest in building botanical capacity, particularly in Latin America, and is teaching and supervising many undergraduate, MSc, and PhD students. Throughout her career, Bente has served on various scientific boards and committees. She is currently a council member of the Anglo-Bolivian Society, on the RHS travel bursary committee, and an Associate Editor of the botanical journal Kew Bulletin. She is a Senior Research Leader at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, where she has been employed for the past 15 years.
